Doesn’t it get your goat
How some mountain climbers will gloat
About the superior view
And “if only you knew
The travails of the trail
Where the weaklings will fail”
Copping an attitude
About reaching an altitude .
But goats need no gear
To climb without fear
The steepest of slopes
They vault without ropes
Over mountain’s they’re rovin’
On hooves that are cloven
Laughing, dancing, and leaping
On a precipice, sleeping
.
So before you start bragging
How you’re fast and I’m lagging
Look there up the bluff
At that billy goat gruff
Whose horns may remind you
The way home’s behind you
One head butt and we’d plummet
So surrender the summit!
.
Moral:
In the valley you’re boss
With not even one loss
But up that mountainous ramp
Ol’ Billy goat is the champ
.
