What’s the matter with a world where things go clitter-clatter?
And if I hop on toe-tip over daffodil to lily,
Would it be such a strange trip? Could you join me in my silly?
If we err on the side of nonsense, acting innocent and mild,
Are we not simply holding to the virtues of a child?
Why must we lose our wonder as we must surely lose our youth?
I think it is a blunder confusing serious with truth.
For when I fall to whimsy my truth is in your eyes so bright.
That say you’ll meet me in yon clover and dance with me tonight.
