Springs and strings
As my kinetic art / mechanical experiments continue, I was thinking that I wanted to play around with some springs. I was going to buy some online when I remembered that way back in 2014 I had an art show featuring over 1000 small drawings. I hung the show using tiny clothespins and netting, using two clothespins per drawing. Each one is about an inch long and the spring is tiny, but since I have around 2000 mini clothespins to harvest for springs I decided to design a joint to start using. Each section has a channel for some fishing line to slide through. The hinges snap together and it helps to have a needle nose pliers to wrangle the springs in place, but overall I’m happy with the progress.
