I wonder sometimes what it is like to flutter. Many of us have looked
at birds and dreamt of flight – soaring, gliding, climbing with each
beat of our wings, a command of the air both smooth and muscular. But
what of the butterfly? It yields to the wind. Graceful, yet chaotic.
How does it get anywhere it chooses to be? Or does it choose to be
content in wherever it may go? Satisfied only to nudge and flitter,
spreading those colorful wings in a strange partnership with the
breeze. And here it finds the nectar. And here it finds a mate.
Beautiful, impossible flutterer.
